What to expect after my dog gets spayed?

My 4yr old ****** is getting spayed on tuesday,i know the vet will give me advice on her after care,but im just interested to hear other peoples points of view on after care and how she will be or act.I feel kind of guilty doing this to her,as i beleive in dogs living as nature intended,but i know in the long run its best for her.Im more wary as our cat died on the operating table a year ago,and my dog is petrified of the vets.What are the chances of anything series happening?thanks all.
